The Ironic Return to Paper

I was reading this article (http://www.humanmedialab.org/paperphone/) and just could not help but laugh.  I mean, all this technology that is transforming how we view data - moving from printed paper copies to tablets. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love my iPad and wish out textbooks were on there instead of hard copy.  It is almost weird to hold a book anymore. They are just so heavy...and there is the lead in to the article.  It was about a smartphone that is as thin as a sheet of paper.  I know the real reason for the innovation is to make the phone smaller and more convenient but really, a sheet of paper?  There just seems to be so many issues with that.  How do you lock the phone?  It would seem more prone to accidental "butt dialing" from your wallet.  I thinks sometimes innovation just goes too far.  I like my iPhone for all the things it can do. I don't want to go back to less capability just so I can also use it as a bookmark.  One of the quotes from the article is "the paperless office is here, everything can be stored digitally and you can place these computers on top of each other just like a stack of paper, or throw them around the desk." Great, another stack of something on my desk was the first thing that came to mind.  I know I am missing the technological innovation here, but I think they missed the mark on their pitch in this article...at least for me.
